LMS Training

Ever since Web CMS training moved on-line, we've run into instances where new users simply couldn't re-arrange their schedule to make the class, normally held on Wednesday afternoons. Finally, we're able to offer a web-based version of the class, broken into two videos, which the LMS system is kindly hosting for us. What does this mean? You don't have to wait for the "live" class anymore! Instead, you have two options:

  1. Hands-on: if you would like to try out the steps as they are described, first go to the Guest ID Form to request an ID and password for the Web CMS Training Server environment. You will be able to log in and have a realistic experience of the CMS while listening to the steps described in the video. An activation email will follow notifying you with your account information and other details to get you started; OR,
  2. Just watch: if you learn better just by watching, you can immediately view Part 1 and Part 2. If either of the two links don't work for you, you can also go directly to http://lms.ucdavis.edu and use their search tool to look for "web cms service" and both videos will be listed in the results.

Whichever path you choose, be sure to watch both videos in their entirety (a time investment of about 2½ hours); once complete, LMS will send a notification to the Web CMS Service team to confirm you've completed this first step.

Once notification has been received, the Web CMS Service will contact you with an activation notice with more details and resource information.
