Event Page

Create an Event Page

  1. Click New | Pages | Events | Event Page
  2. Provide:
    • System Name
    • Parent folder location (must be saved somewhere within the main events folder created previously)
    • Display Name – leave blank
    • Title
    • Description (content provided here is used in the sitemap page)
  3. Review the details of how to configure the Event Page.
  4. Click Submit to save

  • Display Name – leave blank
  • Title – Provide a title
  • Description – optional

Page Content

  • Page Title – leave blank
  • Left column – optional, works just like a regular Flex page
  • Event
    • Title – Use the same title as provided above
    • Short description – This information will be used both on the Event page and as a description on the Event Index page. Note: the is a plain text region; do NOT use double quotation marks in this section – it will case your Event Index page to break
    • Tags – Use tags to create more advanced filtering from the Event Index page
    • Image – represents the main image at the top of the page, which is also used as part of the Event Index page listing. The image section is optional.
      • Attach image
      • Alt text
      • Session – Users can list multiple sessions under a single event title
        • Session title – each session can have its own unique title to differentiate it from other session listings
        • Additional details (optional) – Provide more information about this specific session instance.
        • Date/Time – Users can list multiple dates/times under a specific session instance
          • Start date – indicate date and time the event/session starts
          • End date – indicate the date and time the event/session ends, even if it is the same as the Start date calendar information
          • Is this an all day event? – toggling ‘yes’ will add in additional text to let visitors know the event is for the full day
          • The event repeats:
            • Not at all
            • Daily
            • Every weekday (Monday through Friday)
            • Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
            • Every Tuesday and Thursday
            • Weekly
            • Monthly
            • Yearly
              • Event repeats until – If any of the options, other than “Not at all” are chosen, an event repetition end point is offered.
  • People – (Optional) Users can list multiple people using a pre-completed Person page
    • Role – designated the role the person will have at the session. Please note: if you have additional role types you would like to see listed, please send your suggestion to cmshelp@ucdavis.edu
    • Attach person page – link to an existing Person page that contains the information you wish to display about the individual
  • Location (Optional)
    • Map – not functioning at this time
    • Title - the name of the location
    • Tags - will be used as part of the search or categorization process of what is or is not included in the Event Index page list
    • Short description - information you may want to provide about the venue
    • Address - the physical address of the location
    • Longitude,Latitude - not functioning at this time
  • Row – Users can create multiple rows and columns, much like in a Flex page layout using the provided WYSIWYG text processing area
    • Block content – optional area to attach other block types
    • File content – optional area to attach files
      • File title – provide a text title for the file
      • Attach file – browse and select the file to be attached. The above title will be embedded with a link pointing to the indicated file
      • Display
        • People
          • Display style
            • Tile – any attached Person pages will be presented in a columned fashion to a maximum of three (3) per row. These rows are each 33% of the width of the page. For planning purposes, any images of the person should have a minimum width of 450px.
            • List – any attached Person pages will be presented horizontally across the width of the page. The person’s profile image, if included, will show up on the left at a size of 150px.
  • Super map
    • Does not function at this time
    • Settings
      • Heading level – best practice is to leave this on “Auto” unless you are versed in semantic HTML heading protocols
      • Language code – if a language other than English will be used on this page, you can provide the language code that will assist in having alternate language characters format correctly on the screen
