Web Content Management Initiative

CMS in Higher Ed

Campus Web managers are challenged to meet the increasing expectations of growingly sophisticated audiences, while satisfying the administrative, marketing, communications and branding requirements of largely decentralized and limited-budget campus environments.

As detailed in Educause Quarterly's 2003 issue, campus webmasters have been employing Web content management systems to allow centralized administration of function and appearance, while allowing the owners of information to control content.

How is Web CMS being used across higher ed, and what solutions are universities using? The following lists attempt to provide a representative sample.
